2FM120 Classical Violin & Piano is an album of original chamber pieces that draws inspiration from the varied eras of classical music. From intricate Baroque fugues to delicate Classical dances and heart-wrenching Romantic melodies, the full sonic range of the violin is explored in all its elegance, tenderness and fiery virtuosity. Tracks will be suited to historical programming, documentaries and period drama, as well as for timeless themes like love, longing and even drifting off to sleep. This album was written by Daryl Griffith and performed by acclaimed violinist John Mills, with Daryl at the piano. It follows their previous artistic collaboration on 2FM109 Violin Characters. All tracks were recorded with violin and piano in the room together, to capture the vivacity and conversation of chamber music. 60s, 30s and stings were meticulously planned and recorded as their own miniature pieces.
